The price of fuel provided by EWURA for October 2022 has dropped after the Government subsidy, where petrol has gone from TZS 2,969 to TZS 2,886.
Meanwhile, the price of diesel has dropped from TZS 3,125 to TZS 3,083 and kerosene has dropped from TZS 3,335 to TZS 3,275.
Refined oil prices in the world market for the month of August 2022 which have been used in calculating local oil prices in the month of October 2022 have decreased by 7.4, 3.9 and 1.9 percent for petrol, diesel and oil of lights, respectively, compared to those prices for the month of July 2022.
However, compared to the import costs used in calculating September prices 2022, oil import costs have increased by between 50 and 163 percent per depending on the port and the product concerned compared to the import costs incurred in calculating prices for September 2022, thus affecting the trend of oil prices here in the country.
With that, following the Government’s commitment to continue reducing the effects of the increase in oil prices in this country for the people and the economy.
In general, the Government has given a subsidy of 59.58 billion shillings for fuel prices
